Parties

One of our favorite things to do as sisters is plan parties! We love to do things ourselves that would otherwise be too expensive and out of our budget.  Here are a few parties that we planned and hosted pre-blog. We will be adding additional parties as we have reason to plan them! Enjoy!

Super Elijah's 3rd Birthday Party {March 2012}

Custom Made Invite by Aaron (Robyn's hubby)

We hand painted expression bubbles to decorate the room. Here is our mom "Super Mamaw" putting the finishing touches on  one of them.

Even the birthday boy got in on the action!

 Some decor we pulled together last minute using materials that were available at the church for free. Behind the superhero wall is a large room divider and the area used for Sunday School at the church that so graciously hosts many of our parties. I love when unexpected *free things make parties better!

 A centerpiece fit for superheros. Mom and Dad found these super cool superhero tins in the "Dollar Spot" section of Target. They were a great find for simply and inexpensively decorating the center of our party tables!
 This is an all time favorite detail of the whole party. Auntie Robyn found this idea on pinterest! Oh how I love pinterest!

Simply cut dollar store plastic table cloths in strips and drape on the ceiling and place numerous balloons in the center! Such a cheap way to have a dramatic effect.

Below are some more photos of the general decor. The French clan really know how to party!
Party Room with hand painted city scape.

  A view of the whole room. We loved the bright colors that were not matchy-matchy but were so cohesive with the other superhero decor!
Cake Table

 We have become obsessed with fondant cake baking. So much fun to do at home (tons of work too). We were quite proud of how our super hero cakes turned out after many mishaps including a sinking cake, a midnight black icing run and exhaustion. Stay tuned for a tutorial and the recipe for our favorite fondant cake!
Dessert buffet and pizza were served.

Happy 3rd Birthday Buddy!

Birthday Boy!

Thanks Mamaw for the awesome cityscape!

Treat Bag for Guests.

Each "superhero guest" received a treat bag and were welcomed to the party with their very own superhero masks to decorate! The kids absolutely loved it!

Mommy helping save the day! Tying the "Super E" cape that Nana made the birthday boy. Super cute!

Playing Captain America with Dad!

Better view of the cape.

Super friends are the best friends!

A Southern Tea Bridal Shower {March 2011}

Tanya: "It was so much fun planning a bridal shower for Robyn with the help of her mother in law. It was the perfect reflection of her personality and oh so feminine!"
Check out the details below!
